J-TOP

Our Job Training Opportunity Program (J-Top) changes the look of employment for individuals with developmental disabilities (ages 14-21)... and we would like for you to be a part of this new and exciting endeavor!

Participants receive help from a Life Skills Coach to work on soft skills that are often barriers to employment for individuals with developmental disabilities. Each participant will be assigned a Business Developer to seek meaningful job training opportunities that best fit participant’s wishes. The program also offers a career match software designed by the Autism Society of Indiana, CareerAlly©, to scientifically match participant’s knowledge, skills and abilities with businesses’ needs, wants and desires. These are not paid positions but considered mentoring or volunteer experiences which could lead up to employment.

J-Top will also offer every participant a resume which includes their volunteer experience and training. Participants will receive their resume on a flash drive that they can take with them and add future job opportunities and training.

Easter Seals Arc has a continuing need for local businesses that would consider our J-Top participants to be placed short-term in job functions on-site. Easter Seals Arc staff will be present during the job experience to ensure workflow and training is successful.
