iTeens

Easter Seals Arc experienced a great response from its new Dream Teens summer program.  To accommodate the demand for an after school program, the organization created “iTeens”.  Teens and young adults ages 13-22 who have a developmental disability and are currently in school can now receive after school care at the 4919 Coldwater facility.

Easter Seals Arc recently finished the conversion of their childcare facility to accommodate this new program and expand their current Adult Day Center.  The “iTeens” program offers safe, structured, professional care from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day during the school or work week.   The program will also operate on most area school scheduled days off for holidays, teacher trainings, but not weather related delays or shutdowns.  The curriculum includes challenging lessons of daily life skills, cooking, budgeting, grooming & hygiene, and help with homework.  Fun activities are mixed in with X-box, iPads, board games and outdoor/indoor sports.       iTeens
Parents can have additional time for work or family errands as their loved one enjoys increased learning capabilities, socialization, developmental/physical activities and just plain has fun.

Funding for the program includes Medicaid waiver and self pay based on teen to staff ratio.  New participants of Easter Seals should call Sue Christman, Consumer Development Specialist at 1.260.456.4534 ext 271, existing clients of any teen/young adult program should call Danielle Lyons at extension 230 or Jessica McBride at extension 269.
