Group Home Living For people with developmental disabilities, transitioning to a group home setting is an exciting choice toward more independent living. Choices by definition can involve risk; but at Easter Seals Arc, we work with men and women who have chosen group home living. The right residential setting is as important as deciding to live more independently. Day visits or overnight stays to acquaint new residents with the routine can help make the right choice.
For important information on residential services, contact District 3 of the Bureau of Developmental Disabilities Services (BDDS or known as 'beads'). They will be able to provide you with information on eligibility and intake procedures. The local BDDS office is located at 219 West Wayne Street in Fort Wayne, IN 46802. Phone: (260) 423-2571 or (877) 218-3061, fax: (260) 424-2830 For further information on our Residential programs, contact us.
