Healthy Families Program

Easter Seals Arc is part of a countrywide collaboration, known as Healthy Families, that provides home visit services to new parents.  During the home visit, trained professionals help families set goals, learn how and why to play with their new baby for optimal development, and how to teach and redirect children without harsh discipline using a variety of home visiting curriculum.  We also provide information and guidance on accessing community resources.

Having children and becoming a caring, cohesive family becomes a challenge that crosses socio-economic lines.  We all know we want it, but putting it into practice can be exacting.  Whether you're starting out with your first child or raising several youngsters, we have professionals who can give you tools that will help you monitor your child's developmental progress as well as techniques that are applicable on the practical side of child-raising.

Our Healthy Families Program provides techniques and training for:

  • Strengthening parent/child bond
  • Non-physical disciplining techniques
  • Goal setting strategies
  • Speech and language skills
  • Learning comprehension
  • Sensory processing
  • Problem solving skills
  • Functional motor skills, i.e. running, walking
  • Daily living activities
  • Social skills
  • Community resourcing

Adult Day Care

Small staff-to-consumer ratios help meet the needs of our medically fragile participants or those ready for retirement and/or in early stages of Alzheimers.  The center offers opportunities for social and leisure skills training, field trips and Snoezelen Room.

Personal Development Center

Highly individualized attention is at the forefront of the Personal Development Center.  Consumers here most often need assistance with eating, toileting, and gross motor skills.  The Center offers more opportunities for social and leisure skill training, and some interaction with the children's programs.
