Dream Teens
|
Easter Seals Arc is also moving toward more transitional services for middle school-aged teens and young adults with disabilities with the creation of the Dream Teens Program. This program will act as a summer day program and spring/winter break program for teens who have a disability. Teens, ages 13 to 18 years will be learning life skills, doing recreational activities such as bowling and other sports, visiting cultural sites, local festivals and participating in other events of the season. |
Dream Teens operates during summer school break from 7:30 a.m. through 5:30 p.m. Payments can be made through different waivers or self pay.
| There are professional staff ready to care for the teens in a safe structured atmosphere. The teens will focus on three skill sets. Learning daily life skills encompasses cooking, dining with friends, budgeting, grooming, hygiene and more. Community outings involve trips to the parks, Junior Achievement, YMCA, local festivals, Zoo, Museum of Art and more. Finally, practicing social skills will teach the teens to listen, communicate, conduct problem solving exercises and decision making. |
 |
Teens will wake up each morning and be ready to go to the Dream Teens Program. It’s where teens dare to dream and achieve new challenges.
